About the Department

  • The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering was established in the year 2002 with an initial intake of 30 students for UG degree programme. The student intake was further increased to 60 in the year 2007.
  • The department has a team of highly qualified, dedicated and motivated faculty and well equipped laboratories. An independent Instrumentation block in annexure building houses the laboratories, classrooms, faculty rooms, sophisticated Modeling and Simulation lab, Seminar hall, conference hall and Department library.
  • The department has a wide range of teaching activities, grouped under broad areas, namely process control, Industrial Instrumentation, Transducer Engineering, Virtual Instrumentation and Computer Control Process.The classrooms are equipped with audio-visual equipment to facilitate effective learning. They are designed to promote maximum interaction between the faculty and the students. 
  • On a regular basis, we hold guest lectures by experts and eminent persons from various fields.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The graduates of will be able to

  • PEO1: Have successful technical and professional careers in their chosen fields such as Process Control and maintain the Instrumentation systems of an industry and also offer solutions that are technically feasible, economically viable and socially relevant
  • PEO2: Engross in life long process of learning to keep themselves abreast of new developments in the field of Electronics & Instrumentation
  • PEO3: To inculcate professionalism and ethical attitude towards resolving automation issues to society at large.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
